Services

Three ways I help, in the order most businesses need them.

Setup

Starting a business, opening a new office, or finally fixing the patchwork you’ve outgrown? I get email, file sharing, devices, Wi-Fi, backups, and whatever else your business runs on working properly, for a clear fixed price.

Security

Most small business breaches come from a few preventable gaps. I put the essentials in place: multi-factor authentication, password management, up-to-date devices, and backups that are actually tested. Not sure where you stand? A security checkup shows you exactly where the gaps are.

Ongoing support

A monthly plan that covers updates, monitoring, and a direct line to me when something goes wrong, so small problems get fixed before they become expensive ones.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    We talk.

A short call to understand your business and what’s frustrating you.

  2. Step 2

    I assess.

I review what you have, tell you plainly what matters and what doesn’t, and put together a plan that fits your business.

  3. Step 3

    I fix and set up.

Fixed-price work with a clear scope, so there are no surprises.

  4. Step 4

    I stay on call.

If you want ongoing help, there’s a simple monthly plan. If not, you keep everything I built.

Straightforward pricing, no surprises

About

I’m Brian, an IT consultant with more than a decade of experience keeping technology running for businesses.

I spent 13 years inside a large global enterprise, starting in IT support and working my way up through systems administration, software engineering, and IT management to Senior Manager of IT Infrastructure Operations, earning a computer science degree from Texas State University along the way. Now I bring that experience to small businesses that don’t have a dedicated IT person.

I’ve done this work hands-on at every level, not just managed it. I’ve moved businesses between Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and Zoho One without losing data, connected CRMs and other tools so manual work disappears, and built websites and registration platforms. I’ve rolled out new computers and software across whole teams, set up secure remote work, built networks in the office and in the cloud, and provided the day-to-day support that keeps a business running.

I work best with small teams who want things to run reliably and would rather ask a person than read documentation. Based in Austin, Texas, working with clients remotely and in person.

Common questions

How much does IT support for a small business cost?

Ongoing support starts at $675 per month. That covers a set block of hours for support, troubleshooting, and small projects. One-time work, like network setups or website builds, is scoped and quoted in writing before anything starts, so you know the price up front.

Do I need an IT person if I don’t have an IT department?

If your business runs on email, shared files, laptops, and Wi-Fi, someone needs to own keeping those working and secure. You don’t need a full-time hire. I act as that person for small teams, with a direct line to me instead of a ticket queue.

Can you move us from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365 (or the reverse)?

Yes. I’ve moved businesses between Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and Zoho One without losing data. We start with a short call about how your team works, and I tell you plainly which option fits and which doesn’t.

What does a security checkup include?

I review the essentials where small businesses most often have gaps: multi-factor authentication, password management, device updates, and whether your backups actually work when tested. You get a plain-language picture of where you stand and what to fix first.

Do you work on-site or remotely in Austin?

Both. I’m based in Austin, Texas, and work with clients remotely and in person.

What happens if I stop the monthly plan?

You keep everything I built. Response times and what happens to unused hours are agreed up front, so there are no surprises on either side.
